About the Artist
"I have been creating artwork off and on since I was very young. This included coloring on a vinyl couch as a young girl. Ha ha. Fortunately, my parents were pretty laid back with my artistic endeavors. They were were great about providing materials for me. During my middle school years, I took an independent art class and my work was displayed. I received much positive feedback which encouraged me to continue on my own.
I took art classes in high school and fine tuned my outlet for all kinds of emotions. I reached junior level in college, majoring in fine arts. I enjoyed learning and using a variety of mediums. After that, I took time off to be a busy single mom. Doing commission work for the e-zine Thoth's Riddle became the venue to get me back into creating. I have returned to art, my first passion, and am now Art Director and resident artist for Thoth's Riddle. These days I use mostly acrylic, colored pencil, or pen and ink as these provide the feel and tones that I love. I'm also trying out digital art with a paint program.See newest results on my projects page. Artists that inspire me include Renoir, Picasso, Rembrandt, Bob Ross, 1960s shock art, Escher and my daughter, Chris Nelson." -Suzi Q |
